As a Legal Secretary, you will provide essential administrative support to our attorneys and help ensure the smooth operation of our legal practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and preparing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.

Managing attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.

Answering phones, screening calls, and handling inquiries from clients, court personnel, and other parties.

Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files, ensuring all documents are accurately labeled and filed appropriately.

Assisting with case research and gathering relevant materials for attorney review.

Proofreading legal documents and correspondence for accuracy and adherence to formatting standards.

Coordinating document production and distribution, including filings with courts and service on opposing parties.

Assisting in billing and invoicing processes, tracking billable hours, and maintaining client billing records.

Providing general administrative support, such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents, as needed.Collaborating with other members of the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and support firm objectives.

Qualifications:
Previous experience as a legal secretary or similar role within a law firm environment is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is highly desirable.

A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; additional education or certification in legal studies is a plus.
